Workshop From Bored to Board
Description
Ready to elevate your nonprofit board — and your role within it? Join us for an empowering session led by author and board-governance specialist Erik Hanberg. This is your chance to move from “just another meeting” to meaningful impact as a board member.
In this interactive workshop, you’ll learn how to:
- Understand the critical responsibilities and influence of a nonprofit board — why good governance matters for mission, reputation, and sustainability
- Build and contribute to a strong board team: recruitment, roles, accountability, culture, and strategic oversight
- Clarify the difference between being on a board and being in the boardroom: how individuals can show up prepared, proactive, and attuned to the mission
- Explore real-world pitfalls, success stories, and actionable checklists to help your board transition from “bored” to genuinely engaged leadership
